Introduction

Albaquirky is a small creative business,  run by myself, Tanya Paget, as the owner and assisted by a small number of part time freelancers. The freelancers are; a designer who doubles up as my husband and has no role in data handling and a virtual assistant, who works on business to business marketing and PR campaigns and has access to contact data for businesses and individuals within those businesses.

We collect data under the two main strands of business;

  • Physical product sales (private individuals and businesses)

  • Digital design sales (business to business)

We gather and use certain information about individuals and businesses in order to provide products and services and to enable certain functions of this website. We also collect data to better understand how visitors use this website and to present relevant and timely information to them.

What data do we gather and how?

For physical product sales we collect the following information through our order form:

  • Purchaser name

  • Billing address

  • Shipping address

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • Products ordered

  • Other information relevant to client enquiries, for example details of a bespoke order

For digital design sales we may collect the following information:

  • Purchaser name

  • Company name

  • Company address

  • Phone number

  • Email address

  • Products ordered

  • Basic company info on what markets you trade in, for example paper goods, home decor, accessories etc.

  • Other information relevant to client enquiries

We mainly collect this data through contact forms at trade shows or from direct sales. You have shared your information either directly with Albaquirky or through a representative selling designs by Albaquirky. Our representatives are usually the art collective Finch & Foxglove or the agent Nerida Hansen. We very occasionally collect business representatives contact information and approach them directly if we love the company’s visual style, believe there is a need for new surface designs and think we make a good match. See our section on direct marketing and GDPR compliance through ‘legitimate interest’ below.

For visitors to our website we collect the following information

  • Website usage data

How we use this data?

Collecting this data helps us understand what you are looking for from the company and enables us to deliver improved products and services.

Specifically, we may use data:

  • For our own internal records

  • To improve products and services that we provide

  • To contact you in response to a specific enquiry

  • To contact you regarding a specific purchase

  • To send you promotional postal mailings about products, services, offers and other things we think might be relevant to you.

If and only ever if, you have signed up to one of our email mailing lists we may use your data:

  • To send you promotional emails and updates about products, services, offers and general business info that we think might be relevant to you

Direct marketing - what we do and don’t do

Our ethos is to build up links with genuine interested individuals and businesses. We hate unsolicited spam and don’t ever want our communications to fall into this category. We want our communications to be genuinely relevant, of interest and helpful to you. If you have joined one of our newsletters you can always unsubscribe via the link at the bottom if you no longer want to receive them.

Product sales

If you have bought a physical product from us we use your data to deliver it and that is it. If you want to hear more from us you need to opt in to our newsletter. We never add you automatically to any communication list.

Digital design sales and business to business marketing

If you are an individual working for a company that uses surface design in their products and there is a possible match in terms of visual styles, we want to be able to share our designs with you. We believe that if you are in a role where you need to source new surface design or art on a regular basis, having new art shared with you via a direct email or in a mailing list email is useful and relevant to your role. We also think it is useful to share information about trade shows where Albaquirky is exhibiting, so you can choose to visit and see the work in person. In short; you need new art, we’d like to show you new art!

New art is produced regularly and we aim to share it on a monthly basis with interested individuals. We do this lawfully under the GDPR category of ‘legitimate interest’ for business to business marketing. We respect all individuals’ privacy and data and will immediately cease legitimate interest communication if asked either through an unsubscribe or direct request.
